Scope of Works

A total of 19 existing timber doors were upgraded as part of the project.

  • Intumescent fire & smoke seals installed

  • Hardwood lipping added

  • Fire-rated hinges and closers fitted

  • Intumescent coating systems applied

  • Fanlight openings sealed

  • Glazing film installed

  • Thresholds adjusted

Technical Solution

A specialist intumescent coating system was applied to the existing timber doors, allowing them to achieve 30-minute fire resistance while maintaining their original appearance.

The system expands when exposed to heat, forming an insulating char layer that slows fire spread and protects the underlying material.
