In order to bring your riser cupboards up to 60 minutes fire protection there are several steps that we took in order to achieve this. Firstly, it is important to ensure that there is a 5mm gap around the cupboards. This was achieved by using a slug. Additionally, we install new FB2 locks, intumescent fire and smoke seals, and 3x SCH self closing hinges.

These measures prevent the spread of fire and smoke, and allow the cupboards to remain closed in case of an emergency.

To further enhance the fire protection we apply a series of coatings. Firstly, apply 1x coat of HWAP primer. This helps to prepare the surface of the cupboards for the intumescent coating. Next, we apply 3 coats of HW02/n intumescent coating. This coating will expand when exposed to heat, forming a protective barrier that will prevent the spread of fire. Finally, we applied 1x coat of HW excell clear top coat to give a glossy finish to the cupboards.

It is also important to install Escutcheon plates. These plates will protect the intumescent coating from damage and ensure that the cupboards remain fire-resistant.
