Surface Upgrade of Timber Framed and Timber Clad Building

The HWAP Primer was chosen as it provides excellent adhesion to a variety of surfaces, including wood, and is designed for use with the HWO2/N Clear Intumescent coating. The HWO2/N Clear Intumescent coating is a water-based, thin-film intumescent coating that offers fire protection to timber structures. When exposed to heat, the coating expands to form a thick layer of insulating foam that protects the underlying timber. Finally, the HW Excel Clear Matt Top Coat was applied to provide a smooth, hard-wearing finish that is resistant to weathering and UV radiation.

The team at Fire and Thermal Installations Ltd worked closely with the building owner to ensure that the chosen coatings met all the necessary fire protection standards. The project was completed on time and within budget, and the building now has the required level of fire protection to keep its occupants safe in the event of a fire.
