Residential Door Upgrades

Upgrading 48 flat entrance doors, along with electrical cupboard doors, 8 stairwell doors, and one communal toilet door to provide 60 minutes of fire protection.

This upgrade is crucial to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the building. By increasing the fire protection rating of these doors, we are taking a proactive step in minimising the potential risks associated with fire hazards. This enhancement not only meets safety regulations but also gives peace of mind to everyone in the building, knowing that their environment is better protected in case of emergencies. It is a positive investment in the security and protection of the community.

Flat 1

The upgrade of Flat 1’s front entrance door involved the installation of the following products:

  • Product 49: SM/S Letterbox
  • Product 50: Letter box liner
  • Product 42 range: HWAP Primer, HW01 White Intumescent Coating, HW Excel Clear Gloss Top Coat
  • Product 71 range: Self Closing Hinges, Lock Paper, Intumescent Hinge Packers
  • Product 100: Intumescent Strips, and Urban Sky Johnston’s Top Coat.

For the electrical cupboard upgrade, the following products were used:

  • 12mm Plywood
  • Deluxe Satin Top Coat
  • Pink Plasterboard
  • Product 42 range: HWAP Primer and HW01 Intumescent Coating.

All upgrades were completed to provide 60 minutes of fire protection, in compliance with BS476 Part 22.

Flat 2

The upgrade of the front entrance door of Flat 2 included the installation and application of the following products:

  • Product 49: SM/S Letterbox
  • Product 50: Letter box liner
  • HWAP Primer from Product 42 range
  • HW01 White Intumescent Coating
  • HW Excel Clear Gloss Top Coat
  • Self Closing Hinges from Product 71 range
  • Lock Paper and Intumescent Hinge Packers
  • Product 100: Intumescent Strips
  • Urban Sky Johnston’s Top Coat

For the electrical cupboard upgrade, the following products were used:

  • New FD60 door
  • Fire Rated Hinges
  • FB2 Lock

All components were upgraded to provide 60 minutes of fire protection, following BS476 Part 22 standards.

Flat 3

Upgrading the front entrance door of Flat 3 included the installation and application of the following products:

  • Product 49: SM/S Letterbox
  • Product 50: Letter box liner
  • Product 42 range: HWAP Primer, HW01 White Intumescent Coating, HW Excel Clear Gloss Top Coat
  • Product 71 range: Self Closing Hinges, Lock Paper, Intumescent Hinge Packers
  • Product 100: Intumescent Strips
